Turkmenistan, Darvaza - Hell's Door

Darvaza is a village in Turkmenistan with about 350 inhabitants located in the middle of karakum desert. There you will find the Hell's door. Darvaza is rich with natural gas and before it was a big whole, it was a cavern that soviet geologists found but it collapsed. After that they decided to set fire there, expecting that it would burn within minutes, but they were wrong. It was set on fire in 1971 and it is still burning. It attracts a lot of tourists because it's an unusual thing to see.
